It will be a friendly match Fiorentina-Torino at Sappada, to close the first phase of the summer retreat of purple, which is taking place two weeks ago in Cortina d'Ampezzo. Just as the Pirelli's home race in Monza, Silverstone is a circuit-symbol in the Formula One calendar, famous for its long straights and fast corners. This year, the English track is presented with a revised look, with different parts of the track resurfaced and the new pits and paddock complex, jobs that follow major surgery which was performed on the circuit last year. The key features of Silverstone, however, remain unchanged, with a fastest lap and fluid, where it counts the most aerodynamic of mechanical grip.<br />Pirelli P Zero tires confirmed the choice of Silver hard as 'first' and Pzero Yellow soft as the 'option': the combination most commonly used this year that has offered exciting races in the eight rounds played so far.<br />The Grand Prix is a race more than ever imbued with national pride, given that eight of the 12 Formula One teams are based in England. And also for Pirelli, which has its own distribution and logistics center for Formula One in Didcot, about half an hour from Silverstone, will be a bit 'like a second home race.<br />Opened in 1948, after the recent work on the English circuit measures 5.891 km, the longest ride of the season so far and the second longest of the year, after the Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. Along with high speeds and the notoriously unpredictable British weather, the 52 laps of the track - they are three to four possible pit - will be extremely challenging for the tires, as well as for the drivers.<br />During the practice sessions on Friday, the team will be given two additional sets of PZero White medium, to test the performance of a circuit known to be very severe on the tires.<br />
<br />
Technical Notes:<br /><br />* The load levels at Silverstone are relatively high, delivering more aerodynamic grip in fast corners in the first part of the tour. The route is flat and fast at Silverstone because it is a former military airport. This also makes it subject to changing winds, which can affect the aerodynamic balance and tire wear.<br /><br /> * The construction of the new Silverstone pit complex, which was moved on the straight between Club and Abbey corners, took 54 weeks and 260,000 hours of work, in addition to 575 truckloads of concrete. There are 41 garages and a new media center, for a total of 2,780 square meters.<br /><br />* Between 1950 and 1954, Pirelli has won five consecutive victories in Grand Prix of Great Britain, from Nino Farina Alfa Romeo 158 to that of Froilan Gonzalez Ferrari 625.<br /><br />Pirelli in the UK:<br /><br />* The fully automated factory Pirelli's MIRS (Modular Integrated Robotised System) Burton on Trent was voted 'Best Factory 2010' by a jury of senior managers Pirelli Pirelli beating 27 other facilities around the world.<br /><br />* The concept of the Pirelli calendar was born in the United Kingdom. The idea of the calendar was the Marketing Department of Pirelli UK in the early 60's, and the first calendar was produced in Majorca in 1964, by British photographer Robert Freeman.<br /><br />* Pirelli supplies original equipment to the UK's most prestigious car manufacturers: Aston Martin, Bentley, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lotus and McLaren, confirming the company's reputation as a world leader in Ultra High Performance tires. <br />

Since then the
ex-Formula One world champion has made his NASCAR Camping World Truck
Series debut, finishing 15th at Charlotte, a result he followed up by
claiming 27th on his first appearance in the NASCAR Nationwide Series at
the same venue one week later.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Raikkonen has yet to compete on the Loutraki-based Acropolis Rally
and will be braced for a tough test on the punishing gravel stages. He
spent today (Wednesday) reacclimatising to the rigours of driving his
turbocharged Citroen on gravel roads during a test near Marseille in the
south of France where he covered approximately 150 kilometres.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Benoit
Nogier, who manages the Citroen Racing Technologies operation, the
company responsible for running Raikkonen’s DS3 WRC, spoke to Wrc.com
following the test. He said: “We were very happy with his performance in
Jordan and he has a good opportunity for Greece. We found a road with a
condition as close as possible to Greece and Kimi was quite happy. It
will be a tough rally, not necessarily for the drivers but for the cars.
The first day is very long with only a remote service but Kimi is not a
rookie anymore and will be able to manage this situation.”</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Raikkonen,
who is co-driven by fellow Finn Kaj Lindstrom, will be anxious to kick
start his promising 2011 WRC campaign in Greece after skipping the last
two rounds in Italy and Argentina. He had described his performance on
the Jordan Rally in mid-April as his best in the series so far and would
have equalled his career-best fifth place but for a late puncture.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
“The
driving has been better and we’re pushing harder now,” Raikkonen was
quoted as saying recently. “My only target really is to improve in the
WRC.”</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Acropolis Rally will mark the fourth of Raikkonen’s
planned 10 appearances in the WRC. He’s currently ninth in the drivers’
standings on 18 points. Ice 1 Racing is sixth in the manufacturers’
standings with 26 points.</div>

<h1 style="font-weight: normal; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: small;">At this race weekend, in a change to qualifying procedure, cars required to qualify on speed
in NASCAR's top three divisions -- designated by blue squares on
NASCAR's timing and scoring monitors -- no longer will make their
individual qualifying runs as a group at the end of a time-trial
session, NASCAR confirmed Friday.</span></h1>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><a href="http://go-cloud.blogspot.com/p/sport-channel-1.html"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KEtc10m8QmA/TekNLiBzojI/AAAAAAAAALY/EIOQE4yzXR8/s1600/Mark_at_Kansas.jpg" /></a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The change goes into effect immediately in the Nationwide Series and
Camping World Truck Series. The Sprint Cup Series will implement the new
procedure next weekend at Pocono. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Under the new format, the go-or-go-home cars will be interspersed
with cars from the top 35 in owner points that are guaranteed starting
spots. Qualifying order will be set by speeds established in the first
practice session, with slowest going out first and fastest qualifying
last.</div>
<div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
That represents a radical change from a system
under which cars required to qualify on speed -- typically some of the
slowest cars in the field -- nevertheless made their runs as a group at
the end of the session.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
NASCAR felt the change was appropriate, given
that qualifying order is being set by practice speeds this year, not by
lot, as in previous seasons.</div>

<br />
Today is the race. For all that went right for Todd Bodine last season in the Camping World Truck Series, about as much has already gone wrong for the reigning series champion in 2011.<br />
<br />
Bodine, seeking to become the first driver to
claim consecutive Truck titles, finds himself in a huge hole seven races
into the season.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://go-cloud.blogspot.com/p/sport-channel-1.html"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fW7lo2zqOPQ/TejzRegrB_I/AAAAAAAAALQ/XmF70uDknk8/s320/nascar-truck-series.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The two-time champion has one top-10 finish, has led all of two laps and is a distant 11th in the standings.<br />
<br />
Such statistics would have been virtually
unfathomable in the preseason for a driver who rolled up 20 top-10s,
including four victories, en route to rendering last year's title fight
little more than a snooze-fest.<br />
<br />
But as Bodine points out, reigning truck champs don't customarily have it easy.<br />adminhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18234824782868139555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6968388666261253169.post-79156849108930666512011-06-04T13:20:00.000+01:002011-06-04T13:20:11.459+01:00Moto2 Qualifying Live Stream Catalunya May 4, 2011<h2 style="font-weight: normal; text-align: center;">

Again, Casey Stoner led the third and final practice session of the

Lorenzo attempted to climb to the time in the last few minutes of the
session but finished just behind the Australian by 0.122s. Marco
Simoncelli remained in the top three times of the weekend but was
dropped to third behind the Spaniard, with a best time of 1’43.130.<br />
The sun finally came out for the MotoGP riders in the third and final
practice session of the weekend. The track conditions improved
continuously as the day and the track warmed up. Though only 15 riders
were present on the track, as Edwards is out due to yesterday’s
collarbone fracture and Dani Pedrosa is recovering from his shoulder
injury sustained at the French Le Mans round.<br />
So, we expecting very interesting Qualifying . Repsol Honda's Casey Stoner has completed a clean sweep of Friday's MotoGP practice sessions after an opening day of changeable weather in Catalunya. Colin Edwards has been diagnosed with a broken right collarbone after a fall in Friday practice for the Catalan MotoGP. Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider Edwards has not missed a MotoGP race since his 2003 debut.<br />
It means in this weekend's MotoGP field is down to just 15 riders, with home star Dani Pedrosa

Sprint Cup series back on track this weekend at Kansas Speedway. As the race weekend approaches fans are putting in their bets for
which driver will come away with the victory in the STP 400 at Kansas
Speedway. Will it be one of the drivers who have previous wins at Kansas
or will we see a new winner at the 1.5 mile tri-oval this Sunday?
Since the Speedway opened in 2001, there have been 10 NASCAR Sprint Cup
races and seven different Sprint Cup winners.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://go-cloud.blogspot.com/p/sport-channel-1.html"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-KEtc10m8QmA/TekNLiBzojI/AAAAAAAAALY/EIOQE4yzXR8/s1600/Mark_at_Kansas.jpg" /></a></div>

If we see a new winner this weekend at Kansas Speedway, who could it be?<br />
Surprisingly enough in 30 NASCAR Sprint Cup starts at Kansas
Speedway, Richard Childress Racing (RCR) has only three top-five and
eight top 10 finishes. Could this be the race where RCR finally gets
into victory lane at Kansas Speedway, if so which RCR driver will come
out on top? <br />
Which leads us to local favorite, Clint Bowyer who gave RCR their
best finish here, second, in 2007 and he could be the driver to get RCR
to victory lane for the first time at Kansas Speedway. Bowyer’s season
is off to a strong start, he is currently eighth in the point standings.
He is a driver fans should keep their eye on for a victory this
weekend. <br />
After a third-place finish last year, his best-ever finish at
Kansas Speedway, “The Closer” Kevin Harvick could come away with a
victory for RCR this weekend. He has already posted three wins this
season, and he is a definite contender to dethrone Jimmie Johnson as the
NASCAR Sprint Cup champion.<br />
Another first time winner could be another local favorite, Carl
Edwards. Edwards has one NASCAR Camping World truck series victory, but
is yet to find victory lane in the Sprint Cup series at Kansas. Edwards
is leading the points and is definitely a contender to win this weekend.<br />
Fresh off a Nationwide Series victory last weekend at Charlotte,
Matt Kenseth could be the next new Sprint Cup winner at Kansas. Kenseth
already has two wins this season at Texas and Dover and he will be one
of the drivers fans should expect to be fast this weekend at Kansas
Speedway.<br />
Or it could be Red Bull driver Kasey Kahne. Kahne has been
running strong in recent weeks. Last week at Charlotte, Kahne was
leading on the final restart, but fell two laps short running out of
fuel. Kahne has already seen victory lane at Kansas in a NASCAR
Nationwide Series race, and has won the pole for a Sprint Cup race at
Kansas twice. He is familiar with the fast groove around the speedway,
and fans should watch for a strong run from Kahne this weekend.<br />
Fan favorite Dale Earnhardt Jr., came close to ending his losing
streak last week at Charlotte, but fell 500-feet short, running out of
fuel after leading the field to the white flag. He comes to Kansas
sitting fourth in the standings, his best ranking at this point since
2008, his first year with Hendrick Motorsports. Earnhardt Jr. is getting
closer and closer to ending his losing streak and his first victory of
2011 could come at Kansas Speedway this weekend.<br />

Danica Patrick Back To Nascar Nationwide June 4 2011After Kimi Raikkonen makes headline in last event Charlotte Nationwide, now is time to Danica to show up. Danica Patrick
is return to NASCAR this weekend, for a race at Chicagoland Speedway
that's part of her limited schedule on the Nationwide Series. It's been
11 weeks since we last saw Patrick in a stock car, at Bristol in March.
It will be another month before we see her again, on the high banks at
Daytona. With much of her IndyCar schedule clustered in the spring and
summer, it will be November before we see her run consecutive Nationwide
events in JR Motorsports' No. 7 car.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://go-cloud.blogspot.com/p/sport-channel-1.html"><img border="0" height="221" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-53YgF01Xxp4/Tej-6JZkNqI/AAAAAAAAALU/wKVuUIAI6j4/s320/Danica%25E3%25B6%25AB%25E6%25AE%2589%25EC%25A4%25BE%25EF%25BF%25BD%25E7%2597%25B8%25ED%2580%2592%25EF%25BF%25BD.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Which is too bad, because as anyone who
witnessed Patrick's historic fourth-place run at Las Vegas on March 5
can attest, she's clearly figuring this stock-car thing out. No
question, she still has her hiccups -- her first start at Bristol, for
example, which proved a rude awakening -- but Vegas was no fluke. Her
lap-after-lap duel with Daytona 500 champion Trevor Bayne
for position inside the top 10 offered further hints of her potential,
at least on the kind of intermediate tracks that dominate the circuit.
Nearly three months later, we finally get to see if she can build on it.<br />
<br />
NASCAR officials announced Tuesday a revision in qualifying
procedures for the Nationwide and Truck Series, beginning this weekend.<br />
Instead of separating the qualifying order
between teams locked in and those which must qualify on speed, the
entire field will be sorted based on practice speeds, from slowest to
fastest. Starting this season, locked-in teams were set first in the
qualifying order, in the inverse order of their best practice speed,
followed by those needing to qualify on time. Before 2011, the
qualifying order had been set by a random draw. <br />
According to the NASCAR release, the rules
change hopes to "level competition between the slowest and fastest cars
and provide more of compelling qualifying session for the fans".adminhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18234824782868139555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6968388666261253169.post-30427177390802847852011-06-03T15:49:00.000+01:002011-06-03T15:49:48.832+01:00Nascar Camping World Truck Series Live Stream Kansas Speedway O'Reilly Auto Parts 250 June 4 2011<div style="text-align: center;">

As we mention here in the last post, Casey Stoner again topped the timesheet in the rain- interrupted free practise session 1. The Australian was fastest in the first practice session of the Spanish
race weekend, topping the field with a best time of 1’43.918. Simoncelli
collected the second quickest time, following Casey by 0.486 seconds.
The Italian initially lead the session, but lost the lead time after a
short time by a still recovering Casey Stoner. Dani Pedrosa is out of the race weekend because his broken collarbone he suffered at Le Mans.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We hope dry session will treat the rider at the second practise session in this weekend.</div>

This weekend Catalan MotoGP will run without their home star Dani Pedrosa. Following his broken collarbone after Le Mans accident. Based on that story, Race Direction make a meeting with San Carlo Honda Gresini rider Marco Simoncelli. Below is the statemen from Race Direction. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

"The Race Direction composed of Paul Butler, Race Director and IRTA
representative, Claude Danis, FIM representative, Javier Alonso, Dorna
representative, and Franco Uncini, IRTA Riders Safety delegate today met
with San Carlo Honda Gresini rider Marco Simoncelli. Also present was
San Carlo Honda Gresini Team Principal Fausto Gresini.<br />
<br />
"The purpose of the meeting was to give all the parties the opportunity to discuss the incident at the French MotoGP in Le Mans that resulted in Marco Simoncelli being penalised with a ride through penalty and to draw a line under it.<br />
<br />
"The
Race Direction informed Simoncelli that they wished to ensure that he
was aware of his mistake and to avoid any repetition in the future.
Simoncelli responded that in the interval after the French Grand Prix he
had had time for reflection and regretted the statements he had made in
the heat of the moment immediately after the Grand Prix. He also
recognized that he had made an error of judgment and stated that in
future he would try to evaluate situations better and be a little more
cautious."<br />
<br />
The Le Mans incident came at a bad time for both Simoncelli and Race Direction.<br />

The FP1 prediction, we thought Repsol Honda's Casey Stoner will be at front once again with their great RCV's packages. But Jorge Lorenzo will do his best to keep the "Lorenzo's Land" stay in his home turf.adminhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18234824782868139555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6968388666261253169.post-15282083066500686572011-06-01T03:31:00.002+01:002011-06-01T22:20:51.857+01:00MotoGP Race Gran Premi Aperol de Catalunya Barcelona Spain Live 5 June 2011<div style="text-align: justify;">
