New England Revolution vs LA Galaxy MLS Live 28 May 2011

From previous match, The Galaxy and New England split points in a 1-1 draw in the Galaxy's home opener.
The Galaxy were again without injured trio Juan Pablo Angel, Omar Gonzalez and Donovan Ricketts, although Angel dressed and made his debut in the second half. New England, meanwhile, also made do without injured players as neither Ousmane Dabo and Didier Domi were available for the match.

New England Revolution will host David Beckham and the LA Galaxy at Gillette Stadium. With 14 games played, between one and six more than any other MLS team, the Galaxy top the table and exceed their closest rival FC Dallas (12 games played) by five points. LA are tied with Real Salt Lake (eight games played) with most goals scored (7).
Marko Perovic, Ousmane Dabo, Kenny Mansally and Kheli Dube are out for the Revolution were injured. Leonardo and Sean Alvarado are out for the Galaxy and Adam Cristman is questionable.
David Beckham has returned from playing in a one-time friendly for Manchester United versus Juventus as a retirement event for Gary Neville and is expected to feature at Gillette. Neville won the Champions League, eight Premier League titles, three FA Cups, two League Cup titles, the Intercontinental Cup and the Club World Cup.
Landon Donovan, who leads Los Angeles and MLS with eight goals, will compete against U.S. Men's National teammate Benny Feilhaber for the first time ever in League play. In his five games since joining the Revolution, Feilhaber has been fouled every 23.7 minutes on average, more than any player in MLS. Donovan is also tied with Thierry Henry in third place with 13 shots on goal.
Chad Barrett has three goals and Juan Pablo Angel has produced two for the Galaxy. Joseph leads the Revolution with four goals and two of those were penalties

Toronto FC - Philadelphia Union Eastern Conference MLS Live 28 May 2011

Watch MLS Live Streaming at 11.30 Local Time
Eastern Conference Toronto FC - Philadelphia Union MLS . Philadelphia Union: For the first time this season, the Union offense continually put pressure on the opponent for nearly all 90 minutes. They had 12 shots on goal against Chicago, and two hit the back of the net for the first time all year. Carlos Ruiz silenced his growing number of critics with a nominee for the goal of the year. Rookie midfielder Michael Farfan started, and contributed a goal as well. While the team continues to take advantage of these opportunities less than they should, it is at least a welcome sign for the offense to open up compared to previous games.

Toronto FC: There have been some glimmers of hope thus far in the season, mostly led by goalkeeper Stefan Frei and solid defense. They had a strong and somewhat shocking performance against the defending MLS champions Colorado Rapids last week, holding them to a 0-0 draw. It was Toronto's third clean sheet of the season, and this is the type of defense they'll need to bring to the pitch this weekend against the surging Philadelphia Union.

Starting Lineups Prediction:

Toronto (6-3-1) :
GK: Stefan Frei
Defender: Adrian Cann, Mikaele David Youri Yourassowsky, Dan Gargan, Nathan Sturgis, Richard Eckersley, Dicoy Williams
Midfielder : Javier Martina, Nick Soolsma, Alan Stevanovic
Forward : Juan Carlos Plata

Philadelphia Unions (4-4-2) :
GK : Faryd Aly Mondragon
Defender : Daniel Benjamin Califf, Jordan Harvey, Carlos Enrique Valdes Parra, Sheanon Williams
Midfielder : Stefani Miglioranzi, Brian Carroll, Justin Mapp, Michael Farfan
Forward : Carlos Ruiz, Sebastien Le Toux

Los Angeles LA Galaxy vs Houston Dynamo MLS Live 25 May 2011

Los Angeles LA Galaxy vs Houston Dynamo MLS Live Streaming
The Los Angeles Galaxy continued their dominance over crosstown rivals Chivas USA with a 1-0 victory Saturday in the SuperClasico at the Home Depot Center. Chivas had come in on a hot streak, with three wins out of its last four games, but a first half goal from Chad Barrett meant another defeat to its crosstown rivals. The loss extended Chivas’s win-less streak versus the Galaxy to nine games, a streak dating back to 2007.

Chivas head coach Robin Fraser pointed to his team’s inability to retain possession as a key factor in the loss.

“We need to possess the ball better and not turn it over as much,” Fraser said. “When you turn the ball over, you put yourself under pressure, and a fair number of their dangerous opportunities in the first half came off our turnovers. At the end of the day, I think our lack of ability to possess was our undoing.”

After going down in the first half, Fraser commended his players’ effort in the second.

“In the second half we came out with a lot of spirit and we were a bit more on the front foot," he said. "I think certainly the effort and battling back and creating a few decent chances, it speaks volumes to the character of this team.”

Chivas striker Alejandro Moreno rued a poor first half by his team.

“It was disappointing that we couldn’t keep the ball in our attacking end during the first 45 minutes,” Moreno said. “We take a goal on a set piece, that’s always disappointing. It’s just a lack of concentration at a key moment in the game.

“Second half we were a little bit better, our attitude was a little bit better on the field, and I think it showed, but it wasn’t enough to get a result tonight,” Moreno continued. “We have to be more consistent with our play throughout 90 minutes. What has made us successful over the course of the last month, month and a half, has been our consistency and our continuity throughout 90 minutes. Today was not an example of that.”

Meanwhile, Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena celebrated a hard-fought victory and three points on a night when he said his team was not at its best.

“If it’s a one goal difference in our favor, I’m going to take it every time,” Arena said.

When asked if he had been worried about Chivas’s strikers getting behind his defense, Arena said he wasn’t and unwittingly echoed Fraser’s comments about Chivas’s problems with possession.

“The issue is were they going to be good enough putting together some passes and holding the ball up, being able to continually threaten us. I’m not sure they were able to accomplish that tonight,” Arena said. “But our guys did a good job.”

Both players and coaches downplayed the significance of the rivalry between the two clubs, which share The Home Depot Center.

“Three points is three points,” said Galaxy striker Juan Pablo Angel. “At the end it was good to win this game, because derbies are important for the fans, for the confidence of the team and we got the job done today.”

Chivas' manager echoed Angel.

“As far as the history of the rivalry, that’s fairly irrelevant I think,” Chivas coach Fraser said. “I think it’s just about year by year, team by team.”

After calling the game “another three points,” Galaxy midfielder David Beckham called the game “important for the team, for the organization to show we’re not messing around. We’re serious about winning games and improving, and I think we did that.”

Beckham also lauded the play of the goalscorer, Chad Barrett.

“I think tonight’s definitely the best game Chad’s had in a Galaxy shirt,” Beckham said. “He’s been good the last few games, getting in good goal scoring opportunities. He did the same tonight. But I think his all-around play tonight was exceptional, and it’s fitting that he got the winning goal."

Seattle Sounders FC vs FC Dallas MLS Live 25 May 2011

Seattle Sounders FC vs FC Dallas MLS Live Streaming

Seattle Sounders FC, by John Zielonka: Second-year left winger Steve Zakuani scored his fifth goal of the year in the 3-1 loss to the LA Galaxy on Independence Day. Fredy Montero continued to shine offensively with his sixth assist of the season. He's also tied for the team lead in goals with Zakuani. Nate Jaqua appears to be returning to form, having notched two goals in Seattle's U.S. Open Cup victory over a second-tier Galaxy lineup on Wednesday. The lanky forward could finally provide the scoring-challenged Sounders a well needed offensive lift.

FC Dallas, by Greer Wilson-Chavez: FC Dallas head to Seattle this weekend to face off against a Sounders team that hasn't won in the league since June 5. Despite home-field advantage, don't expect the Sounders to pick up their first points in over a month. Back-to-back penalty kick game-winners will leave David Ferreira in high spirits heading into this weekend's away fixture. Arguably FCD’s most consistent offensive threat, much, if not most, of the creative burden will be on his shoulders. After producing a dangerous partnership against the Wizards last week, Atiba Harris and Marvin Chavez will again be looking to prove that coach Schellas Hyndman's decision to bench Jeff Cunningham was not a wasted endeavor.

Toronto FC vs Vancouver Whitecaps Live 25 May 2011

Toronto FC vs Vancouver Whitecaps Live Streaming

Toronto FC: Despite its defensive failings, Toronto has slowly begun to put the ball in the net, scoring four goals in its last two league wins. Behind most of them has been rookie sensation Joao Plata, a final round selection in this year's MLS SuperDraft. His contributions have been mighty for most of the season and his two goals against Houston and Chicago have proved vital.

Vancouver Whitecaps: I’m not sure if you can categorize him as being on form but Davide Chiumiento is doing everything in his power to get ‘on form’. Dede has been the most outspoken member of the Whitecaps during this winless run and fans love him for it. With losses and ties mounting up, Chiumiento does what every elite performer does- he demands more of the ball. “I can win the game, I should always have the ball” his heart and head tell him, but unfortunately his hips and legs are screaming “I wish I was faster”. Jay DeMerit is the Caps unquestionable leader but in his absence Davide has been the heartbeat, soul, and slightly upset stomach to this point in the season.

New York Red Bulls vs Colorado Rapids MLS Live 25 May 2011

New York Red Bulls vs Colorado Rapids MLS Live Streaming

Red Bulls Face MLS Cup Champion Colorado Wednesday: The Red Bulls look to move back to the top of the Eastern Conference with a midweek showdown against the defending MLS Cup Champions Colorado Rapids coming to town Wednesday night at Red Bull Arena at 8:00 PM ET (TV: MSG Plus; Radio: WADO 1280 AM).

New York is coming off a 2-2 tie against the Houston Dynamo at Robertson Stadium Saturday night. The Red Bulls looked as if they were going to lose their second-straight match, but Mehdi Ballouchy’s 91st minute equalizer earned the Red Bulls a point against their Eastern Conference rival. The Red Bulls are in the midst of playing three matches in the span of eight days.

The second game in this stretch of the schedule comes on Wednesday, with the Rapids making their only trip to Red Bull Arena. Colorado is also facing a busy schedule, coming off a 0-0 tie at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park against Toronto FC Sunday night. Currently in sixth place in the Western Conference with a 4-3-4 record and 16 points, the Rapids won their first-ever MLS Cup last year after they defeated FC Dallas, 2-1, in the final at BMO Field last November. Midfielder Jamie Smith leads the club with three goals. The Rapids are unbeaten in their last five, though they only earned one win in this span – a 2-1 victory over the Dynamo on May 4.

New York went 1-0-1 against its Western Conference foe in 2010. The Red Bulls went to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on July 4 and earned a 1-1 tie with Juan Pablo Angel finding the back of the net for the visitors. On Sept. 11, New York tallied a 3-1 win at Red Bull Arena behind goals from Thierry Henry, Tim Ream, and Dane Richards. Rapids forward Omar Cummings scored both goals for Colorado in the teams’ matches last year. All-time, New York is 14-15-4 versus its Rocky Mountain foe and 8-7-1 at home with a plus eight goal differential.

NEW YORK TRAVELS TO TAKE ON VANCOUVER SATURDAY: After the Rapids game, the Red Bulls have a short turnaround, as they will travel cross-country and across the border to battle MLS expansion side, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, at Empire Field on Saturday at 5:30 PM ET in the first-ever match between the two teams (Please note the kickoff changed last week to 5:30 PM from 7:00 PM – TV: MSG; Radio: WADO 1280 AM).

Vancouver’s last MLS match was a 1-0 loss to the New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium May 14. Despite outshooting the Revolution, 11-8, Whitecaps FC was unable to overcome a Shalrie Joseph penalty kick conversion in the 49th minute. Whitecaps FC is currently in the midst of the two-leg final of the Nutrilite Canadian Championship against Toronto FC. On Wednesday, May 18, Vancouver’s Eric Hassli’s second half strike was cancelled out by a 73rd minute goal from Maicon Santos as the teams played to a 1-1 tie. Both sides will face each other at BMO Field in Toronto this Wednesday night. Vancouver has eight points off 1-5-5 record. Camilo and Hassli each have three goals apiece in MLS play while midfielder Davide Chiumiento leads Whitecaps FC with five assists.
